The enhanced Dutch innovation box has been approved and has been found not to be harmful. This conclusion is drawn by the European Code of Conduct Group. This has been announced by the Dutch State Secretary of Finance to the Lower House.

In the Taxation Plan 2017 (V-N 2017 / 5.3.1), with regard to the amendment of the regulations on the innovation box, implementation and execution were given to agreements made within the framework of the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Project of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

In addition to the OECD, the European Code of Conduct Group also monitors the implementation of these agreements. With the approval is, simultaneously, also the addition of the list of legal tickets with organic plant protection products agreed upon. Therefore, this measure will enter into force on 1st of July 2017, with retroactive effect until 1st of January 2017. Therefore The Netherlands will continue to play an important role as a country where innovation is stimulated by creating fertile circumstances for companies to invest and locate her R&D activities.
